Boss Strategy
This guide focuses on the Heroic Raene Wolfrunner encounter in Ashenvale but also works for the normal version.

Other minis and map mechanics
The main challenge in the Raene Wolfunner encounter is her Huntresses that attack you right at the start. The Huntresses work a little differently in Normal and in Heroic:
- In Normal, all three Huntresses attack you as a single team through the right lane.
- In Heroic, each Huntress attacks through a different lane.
In Normal, the Huntresses respawn at 2:40, 2:25, and 2:15, and start a new attack at 2:10. This pattern then repeats every 75 seconds.
In Heroic, the Huntresses respawn at 2:50, 2:40, and 2:30, and start a new attack at 2:25. This pattern then repeats every 60 seconds. The Heroic Huntresses have the Elven Might talent.
Raene Wolfrunner:
- 4000 health
- Glaive Splash: 120 Physical damage, 1.6 seconds attack speed, 9 range, bounces to 2 additional targets within a range of 5
General strategy
Your first priority is to survive the initial Huntress assault. In Normal, a Molten Giant can be a great tank against the entire trio, whereas in Heroic, you need to fight on multiple fronts at the same time. If you have the Guard Duty talent on Warsong Grunts, they can be awesome in both Normal and Heroic versions of the fight.
Fighting in multiple directions requires multiple minis that can fight against Huntress effectively, and possibly some Squad tanks that you can play right between the deploy zones to split them to answer two threats with a single mini. Prowler, Stonehoof Tauren, Footmen, and Warsong Grunts are some of your top options.
Always send your ranged damage dealers to the bridge. They can shoot at the enemy minis that come under the bridge and they can shoot at their flank already before reaching the bridge. With correct positioning, they can also shoot at the Tower, some of them without getting hit in return, depending on their range.
Capture the Meeting Stone and start mining gold from there. You can also capture the Tower, but it is optional. Attack Raene from the Meeting Stone. Plague Farmer can hit the gathering Huntresses without them being able to shoot back, which can avoid further Huntress attacks.
