Boss Strategy
This guide focuses on the Heroic King Mukla encounter in Stranglethorn Vale but also works for the normal version.
Minis in King Mukla’s army
- Angry Chickens - Furious Fowl
- Chain Lightning - Storm’s Reach
- Gnoll Brute - Rabid
- Goblin Sappers - Rocket Boots
- Harpies - Trinket Collectors
- Prowler - Pack Leader
- Vultures - Migration
Other minis and map mechanics
Mukla starts the encounter with two Raptors (Fast Food talent in Heroic) and three Vultures (Migration talent in Heroic). These starting minis do not respawn.
Mukla also has a supply of free Murloc Tidehunters and Raptors.
- Two Murloc Tidehunters spawn on the top right at 3:10 and every 40 seconds thereafter (2:30, 1:50, 1:10, and so on)
- Three Raptors spawn on the top left at 3:00 and every 45 seconds thereafter (2:15, 1:30, and so on)
Mukla assists its troops with Bananas. Mukla throws the first Bananas on the map at 3:20, and casts another volley every 15 seconds (3:05, 2:50, 2:35, 2:20, and so on). In Normal, the Bananas add a level to any minis that pick them up. In Heroic, they add two levels to Mukla’s minis, but remove two levels from the player’s minis, if you happen to pick them up.
King Mukla:
- 5200 health
- Melee (single target): 280 Physical damage, 1.8 seconds attack speed, 2 range
- Ranged (single target): 160 Physical damage, 1.5 seconds attack speed, 9 range
- Banana: Adds 2 levels to nearby Mukla’s minis upon pickup, removes 2 levels from player’s nearby minis upon pickup, 4 radius, 15 seconds cooldown between banana volleys (Normal: Adds 1 level to all nearby minis when picked up instead)
General strategy
King Mukla is a fairly straightforward battle over an open field. Try to counter the minis Mukla sends at you, mine whenever possible (also to deny mining opportunities from Mukla), and use low-value minis like Dark Iron Miner to pick up the Bananas: for the Miner, ideally when it gets to mine for you too!
