Geaulieu Mission Guide

This guide focuses on the Heroic Geaulieu encounter in The Barrens but also works for the normal version.

Minis in Geaulieu’s army

• Abomination - Noxious Presence
• Chain Lightning - Storm’s Reach
• Darkspear Troll - Serpent Sting
• Harpies - Infectious Swipes
• Huntress - Elven Might
• Plague Farmer - Parting Gift

Other minis and map mechanics

Geaulieu poisons any minis near it, and it applies more poison the closer you get.

In Heroic, Meeting Stones apply 1 stack of poison every 0.5 seconds on a radius of 8. This means that you cannot deploy Kobold Miners at Meeting Stones, for example.

Geaulieu:

• 5200 health
• Bite Hit: 110 Physical damage, 1.4 seconds attack speed, 2.5 range, cannot hit flying minis
• Poison aura: Applies poison every 0.5 seconds, increases as you get closer to the boss: 1 stack of poison at a radius of 11, 2 stacks of poison at a radius of 8, and 3 stacks of poison at a radius of 5 or closer.

General strategy

Geaulieu cannot hit flying minis at all. This was not much of a weakness at launch, because the poison aura hits minis really hard. However, there is now a poison-immune flying mini in the game: Faerie Dragon. Get a Faerie Dragon to Geaulieu and protect it from Geaulieu’s minis and it’s a win.

The old strategy is otherwise still very applicable:

• Banshee is great for stealing Abominations
• Dark Iron Miner is great for mining because Kobold can only reach one of the gold mines on the map (it dies to poison trying to get to the others)
• S.A.F.E. Pilot is a great mini to drop on the chests and various smaller minis Geaulieu has

The only difference is that now you want to pick up the right Meeting Stone with a Dark Iron Miner while mining and send in a Faerie Dragon from there.
