Boss Strategy

This guide focuses on the Heroic Baron Revilgaz encounter in Stranglethorn Vale but also works for the normal version.

heroic baron revilgaz map

Minis in Baron Revilgaz’s army

  • Bat Rider - Fiery Surplus
  • Darkspear Troll - Big Bad Voodoo
  • Gnoll Brute - Thick Hide
  • Huntress - Elven Might
  • Murloc Tidehunters - Morelocks

Other minis and map mechanics

Baron Revilgaz summons Fleet Master Seahorn to assist him. Seahorn walks to the middle of the map and shoots at ground minis and buildings with his long-range Cannon. In Heroic, he has two cannons. Fleet Master Seahorn respawns 60 seconds after being killed in Normal and 30 seconds after being killed in Heroic.

Baron Revilgaz:

  • 4500 health
  • Sword Hit: Two times 80 Physical damage, 1.5 seconds attack speed, cannot hit flying minis
  • Dagger Throw: 120 Physical damage, 1.5 seconds attack speed, 11 range

Fleet Master Seahorn:

  • 2000 health
  • Cannon: 400 Siege damage, 10 second cooldown, 30 range, 3.5 radius, cannot hit flying minis at all

General strategy

Because Fleet Master Seahorn cannot attack flying minis and he walks down the middle lane, you want to meet him there with some flying minis that take him out early. Harpies are great at this. They can then continue on to attack Baron Revilgaz, and you can add Whelp Eggs and an Unbound tank to the mix. Revilgaz will go down in one or two cycles.

While your strike force attacks Revilgaz, you need to survive at home. You need a sturdy tank: Abomination or Footmen can do. S.A.F.E. Pilot can ambush some Trolls. If needed, Defias Bandits can buy you more time by stunning enemies right at your base.
