List of Dragonflight Season 3 Special Weapons

List of Dragonflight Season 3 Special Weapons

Written by Horaddrim - 16th October 2023

Patch 10.2 is already looking exciting in terms of weapons, since we will have the first 2-handed legendary weapon since Wrath of the Lich King with Fyr’alath, the Dream Render. But if you ever got your hands on a Gavel of the First Arbiter, from The Jailer in Shadowlands, you know that not only legendaries can be powerful.

You will be pleased to know that the amount of special weapons that will be available in Season 3 is quite surprising, both passive and on-use! Amirdrassil is full of secrets, outlined below is some key information.

Season 3 Passive Special Weapons

Table of Season 3 passive effect weapons from Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope.

Item Name Drops From Type Stat
Gholak, the Final Conflagration Fyrakk the Blazing Axe Strength
Rashon, the Immortal Blaze Fyrakk the Blazing Polearm Agility
Vakash, the Shadowed Inferno Fyrakk the Blazing Mace Intellect
Thorncaller Claw Council of Dreams Fist Weapon Agility

The three weapons above that drop from Fyrakk have the same effect, which is: Your spells and abilities have a chance to deal additional Shadowflame damage to you and your target, dealing increased damage against enemies above 90% health.

The Thorncaller Claw, which drops from the Council of Dreams, makes your melee abilities have a chance to debuff the target, making it take heavy Nature damage over 15 seconds. Subsequent abilities to the debuffed target will deal a small amount of Nature damage to nearby enemies.

Season 3 On-Use Special Weapons

Table of Season 3 on-use weapons from Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope.

Item Name Drops From Type Stat
Cruel Dreamcarver Igira the Cruel Dagger Agility
Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle Nymue, Weaver of the Cycle Staff Intellect

Cruel Dreamcarver

This dagger has a different effect based on which enemy type you use it on. The buff is permanent, so you don’t have to refresh it once one is active, and as long as you don’t use it again on another creature, you can keep the same buff for as long as you have the dagger equipped.

Note: On the PTR, logging out and unequipping the dagger did result in the buff resetting. However, similar to items previously that had this behavior on PTR, they would remember your chosen buffs on live (Ominous Chromatic Trinket).

These are the 11 possible creature types, and their respective buffs. We also included some examples of where to find the creatures, since finding some of them, such as Aberrations, Demons and Giants can be tricky. We tried to include as many as we could in Dragonflight zones.

Buff Name Description Creature Type Example
Whispers of Northrend Reduces Shadow damage taken by 3% Humanoids Forge-Keep Sentinels, in Tyrhold, Thaldraszus (57.50, 59.20)
Elemental Augury Reduces Fire, Frost and Nature damage taken by 1%. Gives Water Walking Elementals Custodial Protector, in Tyrhold, Thaldraszus (57.50, 59.20)
Wildest Dreams Gives 10% extra leech while below 50% health Beasts Violetwing Stagbeetle, on the stairs of the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken (53.00, 51.00)
Dream Salvage Heals you for 10% of your maximum HP if you fall below 20% health. May only occur once every 3 minutes Mechanical Titan Defense Matrix, in Tyrhold, Thaldraszus (57.50, 59.20)
Colossal Majesty 2% Increased Stamina, but reduces Speed by 5% Giants Portal Breacher, in the Emerald Dream (30.80, 26.13)

Underworld Dreams Reduces Shadow and Frost damage taken by 1% Undeads Risen Bakar (plus others in the area), in the Ohn’ahran Plains, (36.70, 68.21)
Guilty Conscience -10 All Stats Critters Reservoir Filly, between Valdrakken and Tyrhold (51.68, 57.97)

Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle

This staff has an On-use effect with a 2-minute cooldown that deals heavy Nature damage, immobilizes the main target and slows others around it by 80%. This effect does not work in PvP combat.

There is the potential for an interesting combination of the Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle staff and the Nymue’s Unraveling Spindel trinket, with the trinket dealing 50% extra damage to immobilized targets. It will be interesting to see if this tech is seen in Season 3 raiding or Mythic+, especially from healers who are often looking for ways to bring extra damage to the party.

Although there are classes gaining the Legendary weapon, the other special weapons available have some very cool effects, and hopefully they are impactful enough to be used by everyone! Have fun out there in the Emerald Dream.
