Devastation Evoker Midnight Gearing Guide

Midnight Season 2 Devastation Evoker Tier Set Bonuses:

• (2) Set Bonus: Shattering Stars’s damage is increased by 50%, and it always casts as if you had reached maximum empower level.
• (4) Set Bonus: Causality reduces the remaining cooldown of your empower spells by an additional 0.1 seconds each time the effect occurs. Eternity Surge deals 10% increased damage.

Tier Set Discussion:

Our tier set is mostly passive but feels impactful. Our 2-set increasing the damage of our Shattering Stars and our Scintillation, which procs Shattering Star when casting Disintegrate, is a nice passive damage bonus.

But the meat of the bonus is the 4-set is further reducing the cooldown of our empower spells with Causality. When casting Disintegrate it further reduces the cooldown by an additional 20%, which helps make Devastation feel very smooth in combat.

You should still prioritise the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Devastation Evoker, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot.

With Midnight, there are a variety of trinkets that can work well for devastation. Usually, you want to aim for either 1 on-use and 1 passive trinket or 2 passive trinkets. On-use trinkets on a 2 minute cooldown work especially well since they line up with every Dragonrage cast.

To give you a baseline of what trinkets are worth getting your hands on, I'll list a few options below.

On-use trinkets

Vile Vial Of Volatile Venom - Giving us an absurd amount of a random secondary stat on a 2 minute cooldown, this trinket is ideal for lining up with our Dragonrage as we are happy to take any secondary stat to maximize damage.

Freightrunner's Flask - We will never say no to an on-use trinket that gives us a solid amount of critical strike. This trinket, while not best-in-slot, is a very good trinket to hold you over in the meantime.

Passive trinkets

Twisted Horror's Tendril - A great passive trinket that provides a large amount of Critical Strike chance. Using this in Mythic+ is great as well, the secondary effect will boost your stats very quickly.

Gebbo's Bottomless Bag - A passive trinket that awards a large amount of secondary stats, an excellently tuned trinket this season.

Mindpiercer's Sigil - Dealing a bit of split damage at your current target and giving a solid Intellect proc, this is a solid passive trinket to pick up.

The most efficient combination to go for early on is crafting a 2 handed weapon (Aln'hara Cane) with a Hunter's Ritual Stone on it.

Your 2nd embellishment will be Arcanoweave Lining. Feel free to pick what is your lowest item level item slot for the biggest upgrade for this, as long as you are okay with recrafting later in the season.

As soon as you get your hands on a good myth track one handed weapon you can recraft your Hunter's Ritual Stone embellishment to an off handed weapon (Aln'hara Lantern).

Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls)

The Midnight Season 2 Bonus Rolls (Nebulous Voidcore) will be available from the start of the season as an alternative reward from your Great Vault. More sources for the bonus rolls will become available later into the Season.

Nebulous Voidcore Bonus Rolls let you target specific loot from a Raid Boss or Mythic+ Dungeon; once an item is received via Bonus Loot, that item is removed from the Bonus Loot Pool.

Below are the High Priority bonus roll target items and where they drop from:

Ascendant Venomstones

Returning in Patch 12.1.5, the Ascendant Venomstone can be used to further increase the item level of fully-upgraded Weapons, Trinkets and Necklaces.

Once your item is ‘Ascendant Venomforged’ you will no longer be able to upgrade it. Items from Mythic Coiled Altar and Ula'tek will not be upgradable.

The upgrade priority is as follows:

Myth Track Weapon > Crafted Weapon > Trinkets > Offhand > Necklace

Omnium Folio

The Omnium Folio is a new player power system, released in Midnight Patch 12.0.7 and active for the duration of the Midnight WoW Expansion. By completing a weekly quest, you will unlock more of the Omnium Folio upgrade Tree and can choose from a number of player power enhancements.

Recommended Omnium Folio Powers for Devastation Evoker:

• Row 1: Rune Of Unleashed Fire
• Row 2: Rune Of Self-Mending
• Row 3: Rune Of Lingering
• Row 4: Rune Of Critical Power. This row may depend on current stat distributions. For best results, make sure to sim yourself for the best secondary option for your character at the time.
