Tier Sets

Midnight Season 1 Tier Set Bonuses:

  • (2) Set Bonus: Azure Sweep damage increased by 50%, and its damage against your primary target is increased by an additional 100%.
  • (4) Set Bonus: Eternity Surge grants 1 additional charge of Azure Sweep. Casting Azure Sweep reduces the cooldown of Eternity Surge by 2.0 sec.

Tier Set Discussion:

Our tier set for season 1 changes is strong, but does not change our gameplay all too much. The biggest change is that you will be required to talent into Azure Sweep to receive the bonus, and you will now use Azure Sweep(which replaces Azure Strike after casting Eternity Surge) as your main filler.

The most fun thing about this tier set is that it will help extend Dragon Rage slightly longer, with being able to reduce Eternity Surge’s cooldown from Azure sweep by up to 4 seconds per use. Since Dragon Rage is even more powerful with the addition of our Apex Talent, the more time in our major cooldown will feel very impactful with the increased haste and damage.

Trinkets

With Midnight, there are a variety of trinkets that can work well for devastation. Usually, you want to aim for either 1 on-use and 1 passive trinket or 2 passive trinkets. On-use trinkets on a 2 minute cooldown work especially well since they line up with every Dragonrage cast.

To give you a baseline of what trinkets are worth getting your hands on, I'll list a few options below.

On-use Trinkets

Vaelgor's Final Stare - Grants a large amount of mastery for 15 seconds. Great for an initial burst with our major cooldown, Dragonrage.

Wraps Of Cosmic Madness - Since we are a haste heavy spec this season. This Trinket has the potential to do a lot of damage over a short amount of time.

Emberwing Feather - Giving us a large boost of haste for 15 seconds is great with our cooldown. The chance to reduce a different secondary stat is not ideal, but an excellent on-use option from dungeons.

Passive Trinkets

Shadow Of The Empyrean Requiem - Great trinket that will do passive damage over the course of a fight. And during an execution range of 35% health, the haste proc is absolutely absurd. By far our best trinket.

Heart Of Wind - Great trinket that can proc Haste. Excellent option that can be farmed from dungeons.

Vessel Of Tortured Souls - An excellent trinket that will give you a stacking intellect buff. But can be annoying to gather the souls.

Embellishments

The most efficient combination to go for early on is crafting a 2 handed weapon (Aln'hara Cane) with a Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt on it.

Your 2nd embellishment will be Arcanoweave Lining. Feel free to pick what is your lowest item level item slot for the biggest upgrade for this, as long as you are okay with recrafting later in the season.

As soon as you get your hands on a good myth track one handed weapon & offhand or two handed weapon, as well as have spare crests for it. You should craft a 2nd Arcanoweave Lining embellishment.

Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls)

With the launch of Patch 12.0.5, we now have access to Nebulous Voidcores which are additional chances at gear each week. After completing a short weekly questline for Decimus in The Voidstorm, you will be able to purchase 2 Nebulous Voidcores from him a week. You can also use 6 Tokens of Merit from the Great Vault to get 1 additional Voidcore a week instead of taking an item.

After killing a raid boss or completing a dungeon you will be able to roll on loot from that boss or dungeon. It is important to note that raid bosses cost 2 of these voidcores, where dungeons only cost 1 because of the larger loot pool. Using them on a raid boss will award loot of the quality, and using them on Mythic+ dungeons level 10 or higher will award Myth 1 out 6 quality gear.

As always I highly recommend simming yourself for what would make the most sense for you to spend your bonus rolls on. But below I have some recommendations to help you on your journey to achieve BiS.

Trinket Locus-Walker's Ribbon Crown of the Cosmos
Trinket Vaelgor's Final Stare Vaelgor & Ezzorak
Trinket Soulcatcher's Charm Maisara Caverns

Ascendant Voidcores

After unlocking Bonus Rolls Decimus will offer another weekly quest. Upon completing this after multiple weeks you will gain access to Ascendant Voidcores. These items drop from all end game content in Midnight Season 1, and are used to upgrade either your weapon or trinkets to a higher item level. This item can only be used once the item is fully upgraded hero or myth track.

Weapons gain the most from item level so make sure you upgrade your weapon first, then prioritize your trinkets.
