Devastation Evoker Gearing Guide

Midnight Pre-Patch Devastation Evoker Tier Set:

• 2 Set: Damage done increased by 6%
• 4 Set: Damage done increased by 10%

Tier sets from season 3 have been changed for all classes for the remainder of TWW. The 2 set is 6% increased damage and 4 set is 10% increased damage for all damage dealing specs.

The following list isn’t exhaustive, and will focus on only listing some items to give you a rough idea where to start your gearing journey. There are only very few items that beat out every other item in their respective slot. To get a full list of possible upgrades for your character specifically, I recommend running a Droptimizer simulation for the Raids and Mythic+ Dungeons.

With The War Within there are a variety of trinkets that can work well for devastation. Usually you want to aim for either: 1 on-use and 1 passive trinket or 2 passive trinkets. On-use trinkets on a 2 minute cooldown work especially well since they line up with every Dragonrage cast.

To give you a baseline what trinkets are worth getting your hands on I'll list a few options below.

On-use trinkets

Araz’s Ritual Forge - Grants a large amount of intellect that decays over 30 seconds.

Signet of the Priory - Simple stat stick with a 2 minute on use effect that buffs your highest secondary stat and also nearby allies by the same stat but a smaller number.

Lily of the Eternal Weave - 1.5 minute on use trinket that grants mastery.

Passive trinkets

Azhiccaran Parapodia - good trinket which can proc intellect off your damaging abilities.

Diamantine Voidcore - good trinket from raid that can proc intellect. It also empowers your special weapons from the raid making the damage proc do 200% more damage while you have the trinket proc active.

Astral Antenna - very good trinket that grants critical strike. Downside of this trinket is that you gain the stats only when you pick up a small pink orb which is floating towards you and on some boss fights it is very easy to outrange those orbs and lose uptime of the buff.

The most efficient combination to go for early on is crafting a 2 handed weapon (Vagabound’s Bounding Baton, Charged Invoker) with a Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension on it. Double the bonus by crafting a Writhing Armor Binding on any low item level piece your character currently has, for example wrists.

As soon as you get your hands on a good myth track one handed weapon and have spare crests for it, you should recraft ascension to off hand and still keep the Writhing Armor Binding.

Puzzling Cartel Chips

As always I recommend you sim your character for what item is best for you with your current gear.

Requirements for raid loot will require a kill of the boss the item drops from on Normal difficulty or above for a Hero track version of the item, and a kill of the boss on Mythic difficulty for the Myth track version of the item.

For dungeon items you will need to have timed all Mythic+ dungeons on Keystone level 12 or higher.

But here are some great options to take your gear to the next level with Turbo Boost:

Reshii Wraps

This cloak is very important as it allows you to interact with certain mechanics in the raid. It can be socketed with Fibers to change what secondaries the cloak has. I highly recommend simming which Fibers are best for your gear.
