Video Guide

Method video boss guides brought to you by Crzypck in partnership with Kingston FURY.

Easy Mode

  • Prioritise hitting the 2 inactive Tainted Treant adds with Controlled burn
  • Interrupt the Tainted Treant’s Blazing Pollen cast
  • Move away when targeted by Flaming Sap circle
  • Use defensives at the start of the intermission if you have inactive Lashers remaining

Mechanics

Tainted Treant

New add that starts inactive just like the Heroic Lashers. They must be hit with Controlled burn and killed quickly; this is because they spread Flaming Sap circles on players that deal a medium amount of damage to the player and anyone within 5 yards.

Interrupt

This is a Tainted Treant cast that will hit the 5 closest players with a medium amount of damage and disorient them for 3 seconds if not interrupted.

Strategy

The Mythic Gnarlroot fight is fairly straightforward and is very similar to the heroic version, with additional damage and a new type of add.

Your main objective is to hit both inactive Tainted Treant adds with Controlled Burn circles.

Mythic Gnarloot treants and lashers

If done correctly, you will have 2 Tainted Treants and several lashers up. Stack them up and AoE nuke them all. Remember that the more adds that are up, the more damage the entire raid takes because of the Magic DoT that the Lashers apply.

Have your melees interrupt Blazing Pollen casts and move out of the group once targeted with Flaming Sap.

You will get 2 sets of Controlled Burn circles, so you have another chance to free up any leftover inactive adds before the intermission. Keep in mind that whatever you free on the 2nd set will be alive during the intermission and make it slightly harder, especially if it’s a Treant. Your entire raid should single target the Treant if that happens.

Intermission

Mythic Gnarloot intermission example

Before you get cut-off by the roots, assign 4 groups of 5 players to one side of the room.

That way you will have players on all sides when the cut-off happens and it will help you burn-down the roots much faster. The intermission will last until every single piece of root is burned.

Soak the Splintering Charcoal to get the burn buff, multiple players can soak the same one to help speed up the process. Ideally if you have a proper split, you should be able to burn down all the roots after the first set of soaks already, but it's not a big issue if it takes you 3-4 sets, but the healers might get angry.

When the roots are gone, pop all cooldowns and nuke down the boss. Once the boss is active again, the fight will repeat.

You will probably need to play 2 intermissions. If you end up in the 2nd intermission with the bosses health at around 30-40%, then I suggest saving Lust/Hero for that, otherwise use it on the 1st intermission.
