Method 2023 year in review

With exciting events, recruitments and onboardings 2023 was a year to remember. We would like to take a moment to reflect back on the year and share some highlights which made 2023 an incredible year for Method.

Lorgokz's return to Method

2023 started strong with the prominent return of former Method raider, Lorgokz. With 10 World First kills under his belt, Lorgokz is one of the most achieved Balance Druid players in the history of World of Warcraft. His World First experience proved to be a valuable asset in the Race to World Firsts!

A year with Kingston FURY by our side

At the start of April we were thrilled to announce a year long partnership with Kingston FURY, which is still ongoing. Kingston FURY set out on the mission to supply our raiders with their industry leading RAM & SSDs, ensuring that the Method roster was technologically equipped to take on the Race to World First, both from their homes and from our Race to World First venue.

On top of that, Kingston FURY geared up many of our viewers and followers. Throughout 2023, Kingston provided us with lots of their RAM & SSDs, which were given away during the two Race to World First events of the year!

Together with Kingston, the Method team introduced the Kingston FURY Dragon Grand Prix, also known as the KDGP. We developed a cutting edge in-game addon which allows players to compete against each other in a series of Dragon Riding races across the Dragon Isles to be top of the leaderboard. The quickest Dragon racers were rewarded with incredible prizes provided by Kingston FURY, and even real life medals!

The Race to World First: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible

On May 10th, 2023 Method hosted an in-venue event together with our partners for the first time since 2019, the Race to World First: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. The opportunity to host live esport events is what drives us forward, and we were thrilled to compete in the RWF from 1337 Camp in Waiblingen, Germany.

We had 10 players and 9 casters joining us on-site in Germany, and the excitement was at an all time high. The race spanned 7 days and featured many electrifying moments. The Method roster finished 3rd, defeating Scalecommander Sarkareth shortly after Team Liquid and Echo, marking one of our best performances since the rebuild.

Welcoming Darkmech to Method

Darkmech is a pillar of the community, known for his educational tank content across YouTube and Twitch. The story between Method and Darkmech goes back to the Race to World First: Sanctum of Domination in Shadowlands, where he featured in the event as a caster!

During 2023, Darkmech continued to cast our Race to World First events and we were thrilled to officially welcome him to the Method family in July. Since then, Darkmech has helped us produce various content pieces and joined us live at 1337 Camp in Germany for the Race to World First: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, as well as Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope!

Elevating the WoW coaching scene with Metafy

Method & Metafy

In the beginning of summer we announced our partnership together with Metafy. Metafy is an amazing platform which connects players who are looking to improve their gameplay with professional and highly experienced coaches for many different franchises.

Together with Metafy, we sought to make coaching more easily accessible for World of Warcraft gamers wishing to improve their gameplay and knowledge of raiding as well as mythic plus. Today, you can find a large number of Method raiders and content creators available for coaching on Metafy, covering a wide range of specs and even offering unique expertise, such as raid leading. Additionally, a couple of our theory crafters have produced high quality, in depth written guides for DPS Optimisation and how to set up your UI, which can be found on the Metafy website!

The Method Mayhem: North American RBG Gauntlet

At the end of summer, Method had the pleasure of hosting a community Rated Battleground event, the Method Mayhem: NA Gauntlet. The tournament featured some of the best RBG teams the scene has to offer. Despite the tournament being hosted on the North American servers, we saw the participation of a couple of the best teams from Europe as well.

The Race to World First: Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope

On the 15th of November we kicked off the Race to World First: Amirdrassil, the Dream’s hope. Method were happy to announce our return to 1337 Camp for the final RWF of the Dragonflight expansion, bringing with us 11 of our raiders and a team of casters.

After two weeks of intensive raiding, the Race to World First: Amidrassil, the Dream’s Hope came to a conclusion with the Method raiders claiming World Third, managing to defeat the final boss within the same reset as the Echo and Team Liquid, gaining valuable experience needed to continue learning and improving as a team, to fight back to being a contender for a World First.
