Azerite Traits

Spec Specific Azerite Traits

I will only be listing azerite traits that are of impact to the spec right now. Any azerite not listed is not ideal and should be simmed to achieve the best outcome for your setup, bare in mind these are spec specific only (no open world/PvP traits).

Blur of Talons

Blur of Talons: This is by far the best single target trait right now. Stacking this trait makes it even better. This trait also works perfectly with the talent Birds of Prey, allowing you to have an even higher uptime. All in all this is the best trait by far for Single Target and AoE, you should aim to have 3x Blur of Talons.

Latent Poison

Latent Poison: This will buff your Serpent Sting, giving it an additional debuff stacking up to 10 times. These stacks will empower your next Raptor Strike or Mongoose Bite damage. Another good trait to have at least 1 of, having more of this is especially good on AoE and Multi Target fight just make sure to consume the 10 stacks to not waste any.

Stacking this trait will increase the damage gained by it so there is no downside in having more than one.

Wilderness Survival

Wilderness Survival: A must-have Trait for Survival Hunter’s. This trait is the biggest increase you can get from 1 trait alone. It buffs your Raptor Strike/Mongoose Bite damage and each time you use the ability it reduces the cooldown of Wildfire Bomb by 1 second so make sure to have this trait. Unfortunately, stacking this trait is not that useful as you don't gain extra cooldown reduction, you only gain more damage.

Wildfire Cluster

Wildfire Cluster: This trait is mostly AoE and a huge gain for M+ as it buffs your Wildfire Bomb damage. Having this trait together with Wildfire Infusion is extremely good. For Single Target this trait is not the best, so try and get another good one.

Primeval Intuition

Primeval Intuition: Another unique trait increasing your Focus to 120 and giving you Critical Strike after pressing Raptor Strike/Mongoose Bite, stacking up to 5 times. Having 1 of this can be good and should be considered. Sadly more than 1 of this trait is not really useful as you only gain more Crit and not further increases in max focus.

Treacherous Covenant

Treacherous Covenant: This raid drop only trait is special and not very good in some situations.

It is a passive trait that increases your Agility when you are above 50% health. You will lose the agility when you drop below 50% and you take 15% increased damage when you are below 20% health. You will never have 100% uptime, just to make that clear from the beginning. If you have the choice between Blur of Talons or Treacherous Covenant make sure to pick Blur of Talons for the consistency. This trait is not recommended for progress at all but for farm content to push damage it might be viable; keep in might it is way easier to die with this trait as you will most likely take increased damage when you fail to play a mechanic on a boss.

Recommended Azerite Traits

Outer Ring:

You should aim to get:

For AoE you should definitely have at least one Wildfire Cluster trait, keep in mind this trait is not good on single target.

Overall, simming your current Azerite is the most important thing because some traits might get better or worse depending on your gear.

Inner Ring:

For the inner ring you should aim to get 3x Overwhelming Power as it is by far the best trait for Survival Hunter right now. After that the following traits are all roughly equal in value: Gutripper and Heed My Call.

Elemental Whirl and Unstable Flames are sadly not good traits, but if they are the only ones available to you it’s not the end of the world.

Azerite Globules and Earthlink are by far the worst trait and should be avoided at all times.

Choosing Gear/Azerite traits

The best way to find the best gear, Azerite Traits & Essences for your character is to "sim" your character
