You can pre-immune the Cursed Blood debuff using Ice Block. However a lot of guilds are currently not dispelling Cursed Blood at all, in that case, remove the ability from your bars!

A Heavy cleave fight, make sure to have your ignite spread from the boss to the adds.

DO NOT try to solo soak Desolation with Ice Block as it will buff the boss if it fails to hit less than 3 targets.

Shimmer makes it easy to place the Encroaching Shadows debuff far away from the group.

Minor 3: Breath Of The Dying

A single target fight with occasional cleave, make sure to solo soak Void Collapse using Ice Block.

Use Shimmer to handle Unstable Vita / Unstable Void / Unstable Nightmare easier.

Usually you would want to delay your first Combustion for when the adds spawn.

The Gaze of Madness add should be your highest damage priority to avoid losing any sanity, but make sure to not interrupt them early.

Make sure to use Shimmer to isolate the Madness Bomb or even Ice Block it in a safe position.

In phase 2 of the fight, you would prefer going to the right side so you can kill the stacked up Synthesis Growths.

In phase 3 you would want to take a far away position with Insanity Bomb because you are the most mobile class.

You should make use of Shimmer for Paranoia as it is very easy for you to reach your partners.

Make sure to always use the "bad" positions for Evoke Anguish (in the back and close to already existing zones) in the last Phase as you have a very easy time doing so because of Shimmer. Also, make sure to always use Blazing Barrier when Evoke Anguish is happening.

Make sure to use your Combustion when the boss has Shattered Ego as boss damage is the most important thing on this encounter. The exception for this is when you are inside killing the Psychus.

Fire can do alright damage in this fight, assuming the bosses are stacked on top of each other for the entire fight.

You should play the standard single target build with Meteor as it would be easier than Pyroclasm because of the movement.

In the end of the fight the execute damage you deal is also important as the shorter the fight is, the less Storm Essence orbs will spawn and cause a problem for your raid.

As a mage you can also Ice Block to remove the Crushing Doubt debuff early to stagger the damage, making it easier for the healers.

It’s also a good idea for a Mage to take the first interrupt on Witness the End as they can easily Shimmer into range and get it without problems while other classes could have problems reaching the first one in time.

This is kind of the Jaina/G’huun situation again, we will not do great damage in the first 2 phases, however in the last one that is the one that matters, we can do very well due to our execute.

We can Shimmer over the lasers, Ice Block the marks from Unstable Resonance, but make sure to not be in range of others, as it still does damage to everyone within 10 yards of you. It’s also easy to get to the relics to clear your marks using Shimmer and using Scorch to gain Frenetic Speed. But be careful, as of right now, you can’t blink over people with a mark different from you as it will count as a collision.

This is a full single target fight; you should play Conflagration and either Pyroclasm or Meteor depending on which one sims the best for you.

The usual tactic is to ignore the adds and just burn the boss.

You also want to interrupt the adds when they are casting Angelic Renewal and turn away from Blinding Faith.

While it’s possible to flamestrike the robots, they can sometimes spawn too far away from each other, which means Conflagration is your safest bet for this fight.

It’s important to have an interrupt order for the different robots. As a mage you can easily shimmer towards them if they spawn far away, allowing you to reliably do the first one.

Blazing Barrier and Ice Block are great for the dangerous overlaps in the fight.

Fire has strong cleave, making this a good fight for us as the bosses are often close together or on top of other adds.

Your best choice is still to play Conflagration as Flame Patch or Living Bomb won’t be strong enough to outshine it.

The biggest strength mages have in this fight is that during the Ring of Hostility maze phase we can easily pickup any of the Force Orbs and get to the end of the maze quickly to make that phase as easy as possible for the raid.

Opulence

For Opulence you want to pick Living Bomb, it’s great for bursting the adds that won’t live for long; the damage you deal with it will also splash to the boss, which is perfect for this fight.

As for the choice of gem selection:

  • Mages are one of the better classes to take the Topaz gem as we keep stacking the gem buff even during Flames of Punishment by Ice blocking out side of the raid. By doing this you save your raid the problem of the first set of adds, which is usually the hardest one, by providing the raid buff from the gem.
  • However, for maximum personal damage, you want to pick the Emerald gem as you can keep it on high stacks easily by using Shimmer effectively.

You can also block off the Liquid Gold debuff, but remember you also lose the shadow touched debuff from the healers. Make sure to not Ice block off the liquid gold right before Wail of Greed.

Conclave of the Chosen

On this fight you want to use Conflagration again as you can’t really make good use of the other options. Spellstealing the Gift of Wind that Pa’ku casts increases your haste by 45% and movement speed by 75% for 15s. This is really powerful and should be coordinated so that you can always Spellsteal it when it’s up. You can also pre Ice block the Kimbul’s Wrath which makes you immune to both the initial damage and the bleed debuff.

The most important job on this fight in Mythic difficulty is that you can dispel curses with Remove Curse. Bwonsamdi’s Wrath is a curse that makes a player un-healable and you can only remove this by dispelling it, so make sure to keep your eyes on your raid frames and help out your raid as much as you can.

As with most of the other bosses, your best option is Conflagration here unless your guild struggles with killing the adds, then you can play Flame Patch. However, it won’t be that big of an increase.

You can both blink and Ice block Siegebreaker Roka's Meteor Leap to help the raid avoid taking any unnecessary damage in the first phase. You can also Ice block off Deathly Withering stacks that you gain from Bwonsamdi’s Aura of Death.

Since you are one of the more mobile classes you should never have any trouble with Inevitable End, just make sure to position yourself on open spots by using Shimmer efficiently.

High Tinker Mekkatorque

On this boss you want to play Conflagration again as it is a full Single Target fight. Depending on your raid's DPS you might also want to talent into Kindling as it could provide you an extra Combustion in the last phase; this is where the damage is the most important as the boss summons more robots than you can get rid off.

Fire is an excellent spec on this boss as you are completely mobile for most of the last phase, while also doing great damage as it is during execute health range. In the first phase you might not do very well, however the damage in first phase is not that important.

We have a lot of useful utility for this fight. We can blink the knock-up during Wormhole Generator, help others with slow fall, Ice Block off the damage debuffs if you get hit by them and easily get behind the pillars using Shimmer when we have Gigavolt Charge. However, it’s important to know that you cannot use Ice Block in the Gigavolt radiation zones left behind from the exploded Gigavolt Charges (in Mythic difficulty) as it will still deal damage to you and probably kill you.

Fire is not very good on this boss fight, as it doesn’t offer anything special. We are not good with priority damage or split cleave, which this fight is basically made for.

On the boats you have great mobility with shimmer. This means you can be a great team player and place Sea Swell or Sea Storm on edges other people wouldn’t be fast enough to get to.

You can also use Ice Block to help soaking Ire of the Deep.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore

On Jaina the damage you deal in the first phases is just like Mekkatorque, not that important, but the last phase damage is where it’s really important and where fire execute really shines.

If you use Combustion and hit Jaina during the Wall of Ice intermission you can get another one in the end of the fight. Doing this will make you one of the best damage dealers during the last phase.

You can Ice Block off the Heart of Frost debuff and on heroic and lower difficulty you can also remove the Chilling Touch debuff or Frozen Solid.
