Death Knights are somewhat unique compared to other tanks. Other tanks either playaround blocking hits or staggering them, whereas Death Knights are all about self healing. While it is a shadow of its former self from Legion, you're still one of the most “independent” tanks in the game.

Strengths: You bring 2 taunts in the form of Dark Command and Death Grip. Additionally you provide a mass grip (Gorefiend's Grasp), something that no other class has. You have a good amount of damage reduction (DR) cooldowns to help you out during the fight.

Weaknesses: You sorely lack mobility and when most of your mitigation comes from self healing it can put you at a disadvantage on certain fights.

What has changed

Patch 8.3

  • There are no changes to the Blood Death Knights in 8.3.
  • There are 3 new tank essences available in 8.3.
  • The new corruption system is available on gear.
