Boss Notes

Wrathion is a single Target Boss for the most part.

An important thing to look out for is the timer for Burning Cataclysm because the boss will teleport away from you, so don't waste any DPS CD’s on this ability. Another important part you need to look out for is the Gale Blast ability, after the boss finishes this cast he will launch super fast small fireballs under players; make sure to dodge these as they can easily kill you in Mythic together with other damage.

Make sure to hold your cooldowns or any AoE damage ready for the Intermission phase, Smoke and Mirrors. Here the main goal will be to kill all the spikes that spawn as they give you a debuff when they are still alive as the phase ends.

The Mythic ability Creeping Madness and the slow effect you gain every time you move is super easy to handle as a Hunter. You can use your Disengage (with Posthaste talent) to remove the stacks and you can even use a Cunning Pet to have a backup freedom on a 1 minute cooldown or give this freedom to other players that don't have an easy way to remove this slow debuff.

Maut is another Single Target encounter in the raid with very few mechanics you need to watch out for.

Black Wings is a simple cast that knocks you back if hit. This can turn either onto the range camp or the melee camp so just be aware of this timer.

Make sure to not move too far away from the raid with Devour Magic as this debuff leaves a zone behind that you want to use later on to hide from the Stygian Annihilation ability.

If you have trouble doing enough damage in the intermission phase to break Obsidian Skin, make sure to hold your dps cooldowns for this. This phase lasts 1 minute, so play accordingly.

As for the mythic ability, Ancient Curse, don't care too much about it as you can't support your raid with this ability.

Boss Notes

Another Single Target Encounter but this time it's a bit more complicated as the raid gets split up into 2 different phases. The first group gets the Clouded Mind debuff and the second group gets Twisted Mind.

Utilise your Freezing Trap to stop one of the Images of Absolution; these spawn on the side of the room and are easy to spot.

In Normal and Heroic make sure to have cooldowns and swap to the add spawned by Shred Psyche.

For the Mythic part of the fight you won't be able to see each other, so now comes the tricky part. 1 player will get a debuff called Shred Psyche, this will leave an add behind that you need to kill ASAP, so be ready to target switch here. The problem is if someone with Twisted Mind gets the debuff only the Twisted Mind players will be able to see and hit the add, but every other player will receive damage from its cast of Psychic Outburst; make sure to have enough HP to survive this cast even though you don't see the add.

Boss Notes

Another Single Target boss with very few abilities.

First make sure to move far enough away when you are affected by the Soul Flay debuff as this leaves a soul of yours behind and explodes after 10 seconds. Other than that, dodge the Torment zones that will spawn on the ground, which for the most part you will be able to just follow the boss with this ability and be safe.

In Mythic, make sure to swap to the Awakened Terror’s every time someone hits the ball flying through the room and make sure to interrupt Terror Wave as they will fear you if the cast goes off.

Boss Notes

The main AoE boss in this raid. The main goal is to kill all the spawned adds as fast as possible. This sounds easy, and it is!

Use your AoE cooldowns according to Add spawns. In every wave, there will be a priority Add to kill, so make sure to focus on that. That Add will either be an Aqir Drone which will grow big and start to cast Volatile Eruption or an Aqir Ravager which does a lot of tank damage, so you want to focus it and cleave the rest around it down. This wave is also a good one to use your Essence of the Focusing Iris on. The last wave will spawn 3 Flying Aqir Darters. These can be stunned and/or rooted, so you can use your Pet Stun and Binding Shot here to stop them from moving away from melee.

Last ability to talk about is the “dance” of this fight, Spawn Acidic Aqir. You need to make sure to dodge them as the debuff they apply to you increases your damage taken by 50% for 16 seconds, which can easily kill you combined with other mechanics on this fight.

Boss Notes

The Patchwork fight of this Raid, so make sure to have the optimal single target setup on this boss.

The main abilities on this fight are the Breaths the boss does, dodge those. On top of that the boss will have 3 phases triggered by HP thresholds.

During the first one there will be small zones (Umbral Eruption) spawning under everyone, just move out.

In the second phase the boss will spawn Void orbs (Entropic buildup) that you need to soak.

The third phase is the tricky one as there will be a green zone growing from the center of the room (Bubbling Overflow). If you touch this zone you will die quickly, so this is kind of the soft enrage of this boss. You probably want to have all your cooldown ready for this phase.

This is another boss where you can make use of the freedom spells available in the raid (including your pet). In Mythic when the small adds spawn (Living Miasma), they fixate a target that will be rooted, make sure to give them a freedom. Also when you are fixated, move away from the raid to reduce the damage taken by the raid by quite a lot.

Boss Notes

The perfect shadow boss, spread-out cleave, but sadly this boss is not good for Hunter, so your main goal will be to focus down the important to kill targets and have cooldowns ready for the phase that you can get the Void Infused Ichor debuff (making you able to dps the boss).

Apart from this, the boss will be about killing the correct targets in the correct order. It might be worth considering using Condensed Life-force on this boss for the extra burst of single target damage, but this fully depends on your strat and raid dps during progress.

Boss Notes

This Il’gynoth version is a little different to the one we fought back in Emerald Nightmare, but some abilities are almost the same. The main element of this fight is the room management as the room will slowly fill up and be rendered useless due to the Corruptor's Gaze ability. This will put a beam on some players, following them and leaving corruption on the ground for the rest of the fight.

In the first phase you are fighting the Body of Il’gynoth. He will do a Mind Control (Touch of the Corruptor) cast where you need to spread in addition to the beams on players after you've killed the body. In Mythic a new Add will spawn from the body that you need to handle depending on your raid strat. Your main goal is to kill 1 organ per phase; these organs need to be interrupted on a rotation when casting Pumping Blood to prevent the Blood adds from spawning.

After you kill an organ the main body comes back and you need to kill him again with the addition of blood spawning from the already defeated organ. These will fixate on players and leave a debuff behind when they hit you and when you kill them they will explode and do raid damage.

Talents:

Boss Notes

Vexiona has a lot of different mechanics, so I will only be listing the most important ones during this encounter.

The main part of this boss is to handle the spawning add waves correctly, so cleave damage and swapping to the adds that need to die is essential.

  • Your main target will be the mythic add, Iron-Willed Enforcer, he will grip 3 players to him and then start a cast that will stun everyone around him.
  • The second most important target are the Fanatical Cultist, before they reach 100 Energy they need to die whilst making sure you interrupt the Spellbound Ritualist's casts. So, make sure to have an AoE cooldown ready when the adds spawn, holding CD’s for a little bit will be worth it on this boss.

When the boss reaches 100 Energy it will fly up and go into the Intermission where you need to to dodge on the 3 lines of the room to avoid getting hit from the breath.

When it reaches 40% HP it will go into Phase 3. Here it is important to have assigned soak teams for the Desolation ability. On top of that, during this whole phase, you need to be stacked with other players otherwise you will have a -100% Haste debuff. Using bloodlust combined with all DPS cooldowns here will most likely be the play.

The Mythic mechanic spawns an additional Shadow of Vexiona, this shadow will cast Twilight Decimator during the last 40% of the boss. This is the same ability the boss does during the intermission where it flies up, so make sure to have good raid coordination while moving around the room to dodge this.

Talents:

Essences:

Boss Notes

Ra’den is a boss that is all about control and coordination during the first phase. The main priority is to kill the Empowerment Orb’s in the preferred order and to deal with the resulting mechanics. The encounter changes drastically depending on the kill order and strat, so most likely your timings are going to be different from other guilds. A general tip on this boss though is to have a high focus on the adds and how to handle them; most of the time the Void Hunter has the highest kill priority.

Ra’den’s Stage 2 begins on 40% boss hp. This phase is a dps race as he will get more and more damage from Lingering Energies, so make sure to have DPS CD’s ready here.

On Mythic difficulty the ability Corrupted Existence gets added to Stage 2. This debuff will do damage to 3 players and give them a debuff for 30 seconds. During the debuff you cant get to full hp otherwise you die, so don't panic and incorrectly use your healthstone and abyssal healing potion here and kill yourself with it.

Boss Notes

Carapace of N’Zoth has a lot of different mechanics so I will only be listing the most important ones during this encounter. This is the first boss where we encounter the Sanity mechanic. With this, you will gain an extra resource bar on your screen which you can not let drop to 0. If you do, the debuff Gift of N’zoth will be applied, giving you 100% more damage and 100% more healing for 20 seconds, but after the duration expires you are going to be mind controlled with 100% more HP.

During phase 1 your main goal is to kill the tentacle that spawns on the side of the room and the small adds on top of the slamming tentacle. Here having some small AoE cd’s or your blood of the enemy will be the play.

In phase 2 you will split your raid into two groups and make your way through the sides of the second room. Here you're killing 2 different adds, which as a hunter your job will most likely to be to kill the ones that are either alone in the back or the ones that are stacked as 3. Make sure to have all cd’s ready so you can break the Adaptive Membrane on them.

After both sides have killed all their Adds, phase 3 starts (in Mythic that is). Here you need to play according to the strategy the raid is playing and just make sure to make a lot of space with the Sanity Bombs for other players. As a BM hunter you are mobile and should probably move farther away from the boss to drop off the debuff.

Phase 3 is basically a big dps race, so make sure to have all CD’s back going into phase 3.

Boss Notes

N’Zoth the Corruptor has a lot of different mechanics so I will only be listing the most important ones during this encounter. This is the final Boss where we once again encounter the Sanity mechanic. With this you will gain an extra resource bar on your screen which you can not let drop to 0, if you do, the debuff Gift of N’zoth will be applied. The debuff gives you 100% more damage and 100% more healing for 20 seconds, but after the duration expires you are going to be mind controlled with 100% more HP.

During the first phase you will need to kill a Psychus together as a whole raid team. The most efficient way is to kill Exposed Synapses one after another to apply a buff to the Psychus, increasing his damage taken per stack by 50%. As the first two phases are built around this Psychus add mechanic, make sure to know exactly how it works.

In Phase 2 you need to split your raid into two teams. The team that goes into the Psychus should remember to holding your main dps cooldowns here is essential as you want to wait for the highest amount of buff stacks on the Psychus before you use them. The other team is upstairs fighting 3 different tentacle types: one that you need to interrupt, the other one needs to be tanked and the small ones just do casts on random raid members.

The next mechanics will occur throughout the rest of the fight and are important. The Mindgrasp ability will drag you either towards the boss or away from him, here just look at the animation and position accordingly. The Paranoia mechanic links you with another player, make sure to move to them but don't run over other players.

In the last Phase Thought Harvester adds will spawn, these can be cleaved and dotted up etc. Their casts needs to be soaked by enough players as it will drain your Sanity. The last important mechanic is Evoke Anguish, make sure to drop the zones from the debuff that everyone in the raid will get close to the edge of the room as they will grow every cast, slowly closing up the available room you have to play the fight in.

Mythic N’zoth

In Mythic you skip the phase 1 that you played in Heroic and go straight into phase 2 (of heroic). Here you need to kill the tentacles that spawn and play the Paranoia mechanic with all the players in your raid.

As a hunter, you will be assigned to 1 of the 2 groups that go down to kill the Psychus; make sure to focus the Exposed Synapses until the Boss has 6+ stacks, then you can start cleaving them.

After you have defeated both Psychus phases, you will enter phase 3. Here the important task as a BM Hunter is to drop your Evoke Anguish debuff off as far back as you can, as you don't lose a lot of dps going out that far. Make sure to spread well as you can't stack with this mechanic in Mythic. Another thing to note here is that if you play Blood of the Enemy + Vision Minor or Vision Major, use your cooldowns on cooldown when entering phase 3 and they will perfectly line up with your kill. Other than that, make sure to not use Feign Death while you have the Evoke Anguish debuff (until blizzard fixes this bug), as this will remove your circle you have around you, this can confuse other raid members and possibly wipe you.

Dark Herald/Promises of Power Notes

  • This fight is all about playing well around the Dark Herald debuff and the damage increase that you get from standing in it. When inside the debuff zone, you gain stacks of Promises of Power, each stack will lower your hp by 10% but also give you 10% damage up to a maximum of 9 stacks.
  • Hold your cooldowns for the phases with this damage increase debuff, don't use them outside of that window.
  • The whole fight is based around this ability, so make sure to always get dispelled when the Crushing Doubt debuff is about to expire or the Witness the end cast is about to happen.

General Fight Notes

  • This encounter is a 2 target fight, with an additional 3 adds spawning multiple times per fight that you will need to burst down.
  • Make sure to cleave the bosses equally at the end as they both need to die at the same time. Fa’thuul the Feared has a lot more health, so keep that in mind while playing the fight.
  • Aspect of the Turtle can be used to keep your Promises of Power debuff throughout one set of Crushing Doubts. Make sure to use it before they expire and cancel your turtle when they have ran out.
  • Apart from that, make sure to soak the small Void Crash circles when you don't have a Promises of Power debuff; if you do have one, make sure to not get hit by any mechanic otherwise you will most likely die.
  • While the Storm of Annihilation is active make sure to never drop below 25% HP because the Storm will instantly kill you when you fall below 25%.

Uu'nat

For Hunters Uu’nat is basically a single target fight because we don't have meaningful DoTs or long range cleave to help out on the Undying Guardians.

Phase 1

  • During Phase 1 make sure to never stand in front of the boss when he is about to cast Touch of the End because it is a frontal ability.
  • During the Eyes of N’Zoth make sure to cross 1 of the 2 incoming beams immediately to avoid getting a double stack of the debuff.
  • The Maddening Eyes of N’Zoth will spawn zones on the ground, just make sure to dodge them.
  • When the boss is about to hit 100 Energy, don't be low HP as he will increase the ring growing around the raid and do raid damage.
  • Make sure to stand at the edge of the ring to bait the Oblivion Tear onto you, this will help out the raid a lot in terms of space

Phase 2

  • During Phase 2 make sure to move out of the Unknowable Terror, otherwise you take a large amount of damage and get feared. In this phase the boss will spawn 3 caster adds from time to time, make sure to interrupt them.

Phase 3

  • Phase 3 is almost the same as Phase 1, the difference being that the ring will no longer grow small and that there is a new debuff called Insatiable Torment. When you get this debuff you can't get healed only by standing on other players via Feed on the Unworthy. Standing on other players will allow you to siphon their health, so make sure to always be stood close to someone.
  • Another mechanic is the Gift of N’Zoth: Lunacy which the boss will cast at 100 energy. When he is about to cast it, make sure to not AoE, as you're hostile to everyone in the raid and can therefore attack them.
  • Finally, Aspect of the Turtle can be used to avoid the Beam stacks, which can be super useful in the last phase when you are affected by Insatiable Torment.

Go for pure Single Target on the Boss here and only kill the adds when your raid wants to play a strategy that involves killing them.

Make sure to have an interrupt ready for the (mythic only resurrect ability) Prayer of the Fallen. Be a team player and interrupt one of the casts and you're good.

As a BM Hunter taking the Apetagonizer Core is super easy and you might want to consider using the core as you can use Spirit Mend on yourself to help out the healers.

Also consider holding your second Aspect of the Wild in this fight for the second Add wave that spawns 2:15 min into the fight.

If you're set into an interrupt rotation, make sure to follow those. If not, take one of the early interrupts because a lot of melee classes are not fast enough to take the first one. Just be a team player and interrupt the first cast to help out your raid.

The main goal of this fight is to kill the Monk first so make sure to focus her down.

Make sure to save up damage for the Spirits of Xuen, use your stun on them when they are in melee.

When you are able to cleave, do it, but keep using Kill Command on cooldown so you don't lose too much priority target damage. This applies to the orb wall/explosives and the Spirits of Xuen.

Keep in mind you are able to soak the flame traps with Aspect of the Turtle to help out your raid.

Do not interrupt the Pyroblast cast early, there is no benefit to interrupting him before the cast is almost finished.

On this boss the main goal is to execute mechanics well, your DPS on this fight is not too important.

Keep in mind you can solo the Coin Shower with Aspect of the Turtle and make use of your mobility to drop the Liquid Gold debuff far away from the group.

If you want to make sure that the adds die, hold your cooldowns for the add wave spawns.

This fight is straightforward in the approach you should take:

  • Make sure to always swap to the raptors (Ravenous Stalker), they are the number one priority on this fight.
  • When your cooldowns line up with the raptors, just use it on them, it is worth delaying your cooldowns slightly if the raptors are about to spawn.
  • When moving to the Pa'ku's Wrath safe zone, make sure to keep an eye on the frog (Krag'wa) jumping around to avoid him landing on you and possibly knocking you out of the safe zone.

Hunters also have some useful personal utility for this fight:

  • You can make use of your stuns to save teammates from dying to raptors.
  • Your Aspect of the Turtle can be used to avoid getting a bleed stack from the Kimbul’s Wrath ability, keep that in mind when you're targeted by it.

Make sure to have a smart cooldown usage on this fight. Because your Aspect of the Beast is a 2 minutes cooldown, you might only want to use it once before going down/inside to the Death Realm.

Focus down the Zombie Dust Totem when it spawns.

Most of the time as a ranged you will go down (to the Death Realm) to push Bwonsamdi to 50% health. Make sure to hold your cooldowns for this phase even it if means a DPS loss in Phase 1.

Make use of your mobility spells to outrun Inevitable End. Keep in mind Aspect of the Turtle will not save you from that ability, no immunity works on it.

This is a good fight for Hunters. Make sure to use your cooldowns after the World Enlarger cast to not get a bad timing with the shrunk.

The Shrunk debuff reduces your damage done by 99%, so there is no point in pushing damage, just go straight into the robot and follow calls.

Use disengage to prevent the knock up on the teleport cast (Mythic difficulty only).

You can use Aspect of the Turtle to prevent a lot of damage on you because it deflects the Gigavolt Blast application debuff. When you get a bomb, go behind the assigned wall and use aspect of the turtle before the Gigavolt Charge debuff runs out. This prevents you getting the Gigavolt Blast (30 second debuff), helping your raid healing requirements a lot.

This fight is all about add control and playing the mechanics correctly.

As a hunter you can blast the Tempting Siren and this should be your main priority throughout the fight.

Aspect of the Turtle or other defensive ability should be used to drop new Sea Swells into old ones making more space on the ship.

Later into the fight when the dance happens and you're not full health just use a defensive to guarantee your survival.

On the main platform, just make sure to run with your raid group and hold damage for when the Tempting Sirens spawn.

When you get the Storm’s Wail debuff in the beginning of phase 2, make sure to drop it as far away as possible so your raid has the most uptime on the boss.

Use Disengage to break the root caused by Ring of Ice.

As a hunter you are the perfect class to do the Ballistas on the side of the boat. If you want to be a team player, make sure to grab that job if it's not already assigned to healers.

It's important on this fight to look out for the Blizzard bar and time your cooldowns accordingly. Don't use your cooldowns right before you hit 100 energy, this will limit your vision and you are not gonna be able to play out your full cooldown duration.

Do not waste DPS cooldowns in the intermission, it is way more valuable to hold them for later to burst for example the barrel or a player in an ice block.

As a BM hunter you might want to consider being the escort guy for the tank in Phase 2.

Make sure to have your Bestial Wrath back for the Wall of Ice, don't use your Aspect here you will need it later.

When entering Phase 3, make sure to line up all your cooldown with Aspect of the wild because you will only get one use regardless.

Aspect of the Turtle can be used to prevent becoming an ice block in any phase so it's a valuable cooldown.

The use of defensive abilities and consumables is really important, so make sure to have Survival of the Fittest back up going into last phase as well as your health potion and health stone.
