Affliction Warlock

Patch 9.0.5

Last Updated: 16th Apr, 2021

  • Night Fae - Good - Best Soulbind: Niya
  • Kyrian - Decent - Best Soulbind: Pelagos
  • Necrolord - Bad - Best Soulbind: Emeni
  • Venthyr - Bad - Best Soulbind: Nadjia

Night Fae is currently far ahead of any other covenants in terms of soulbinds, covenant ability damage wise and utility ability. Kyrian is close in terms of damage but way worse to utilize it, has a worse utility ability and worse soulbinds. Venthyr and Necrolord are both significantly worse in terms of damage but after recent changes in 9.0.5 Necrolord has at least good survivability with the new Fleshcraft.

  • Night Fae - Good - Best Soulbind: Niya
  • Kyrian - Decent - Best Soulbind: Pelagos
  • Necrolord - Bad - Best Soulbind: Emeni
  • Venthyr - Decent - Best Soulbind: Nadjia

Night Fae, again, overall is just a better choice. Soul Rot works better with multiple targets due to Malefic Rapture. Kyrian’s Scouring Tithe is a single target dot which is worse and the only advantage it has is that it gives 5 extra shards, when the target dies with it, which isn’t an issue in a multiple target fight for affliction.

Venthyr may have a potential because of an AoE curse from Impending Catastrophe but it lacks damage compared to Soul Rot and, as have been said, have worse soulbinds. Necrolord is worse, and the only good thing about it is Fleshcraft being a strong defensive cd.

Soulbinds and Conduits

Potency Conduits

Priority 1: Focused Malignancy Very strong increase to prio targets and a mandatory conduit for any scenario.

Priority 2: Cold Embrace a decent damage increase for single target and priority damage in fights where you can maintain it on your target. Rolling Agony is a useful conduit for fights with multiple adds or m+.

Endurance Conduits

Diabolic Bloodstone looks good on paper but is very useless in reality. Healing is just too little.

Accrued Vitality is a bit better since u can control it and get slightly more healing at times when you really need it.

Resolute Barrier might come in handy at times when you need your defensive CDs a bit more often than every 3 minutes. Looks good for PvP.

Finesse Conduits

Demonic Momentum Good movement speed bonus for when you use your circle.

Shade of Terror Your Fear can withstand 100% more damage before breaking. Good for PvP but useless for PVE.

Fel Celerity The cooldown of Fel Domination is reduced by ‘x’ sec. Might come in handy for PvP, but it has no use for pve just yet.

Kilrogg’s Cunning Your Eye of Kilrogg is no longer stealthed and can now place your Demonic Circle. Currently useless.

The best Affliction Legendary effect for raiding and m+ i sRelic of Demonic Synergy.

For PvP it’s Sacrolash’s Dark Strike.
